What is E-Mail?
Short for electronic mail, the transmission of messages over communications networks. The messages can be notes entered from the keyboard or electronic files stored on disk. Most mainframes, minicomputers, and computer networks have an e-mail system. Some electronic-mail systems are confined to a single computer system or network, but others have gateways to other computer systems, enabling users to send electronic mail anywhere in the world.
Reading and Sending E-Mail Through the Web
You may read and send e-mail for your domain hosted by Netpoint Hosting through any computer that has internet access and a web browser(i.e.: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox).
Simply point your browser to http://mail.yourdomain.com:8383 and login with the account username and password which you created. The default account issued to new customers is webmaster@yourdomain.com. Until you change the password, the default setting is "password". Please change this the first time you login.
Once you log in, you will see a table which reports the number of new messages that your mail-box currently holds. You will also see buttons that will allow you access pages from which you can send and read your e-mail.
* Adding an E-mail Account on Your Domain
You may add, delete, and configure you own e-mail accounts as needed using the web based control panel for your domain (where applicable).
To administer your accounts, go to http://mail.yourdomain.com:8383 and login with your administrative account. The default administrative account issued to new customers is webmaster@yourdomain.com. Until you change the password, the default setting is "password". Please change this the first time you login.
Once you login, you will see several links for account administration. To add a new account, click on the User Administration link near the bottom of the page. This will open your User and Alias Administration screen. Simply click on Add User, complete the form, click save and your new account is ready to use.
Creating and Using a List Server Address
Follow the onscreen instructions below to create and use a mailing list address. You will need the address information contained in your welcome letter. Please note that list server access is an optional service that carries $10 per month service charge.
Creating A List
Enter a name for the list server mailing list - the name must be from 3 to 23 characters in length, with no spaces between characters. This is the name used to send mail to the list. For example, if you enter the name "IMailinfo," users will send mail to the list by specifying the To address:
IMailinfo@yourdomain.com.
Note
Do not use the name imailsrv for a list server mailing list; this name is reserved for server functions. Enter an e-mail address in your domain as the list owner. This account will be used to administer the list and is the only account that can delete users remotely by e-mail. (see the List Server Commands section below for more info)

You may add, delete, and configure an autoresponder e-mail account as needed using the web based control panel for your domain.
You must first create the account you wish to be the autoresponder through your administrative account.
Once the account has been created, logout and log back in with the new account settings. Once you are logged in with your autoresponder account, click on the Set Vacation link.
This will take you to a form where you may input the message you wish to send to users from which the account receives mail.
This web form is limited to 1,000 characters. If you have an autoresponse larger than the limit, e-mail it to support@netpointhoting.com and we will be happy to set it up for you directly through the server. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to setup an account through this method.
